Immunopathogenesis of psoriasis.
نویسنده
چکیده
Psoriasis is a common inflammatory disease affecting 1% of the Brazilian population. Th17 and Th1cells are involved with the immunopathogenisis of psoriasis. In this article it is discussed the interaction between the innate immunity (especially dendritic cells and keratinocytes) and adaptive immunity (T lymphocytes) in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.

The immunopathogenesis of psoriasis involves complex interactions between the innate and the adaptive immune system, with emphasis on participation of keratinocytes, neutrophils, dermal dendritic cells and T lymphocytes. The knowledge of the immunopathogenesis of the disease is essential for understanding the mechanism of action of several systemic medications used in the treatment of the diseas...
متن کاملThe role of CD4 and CD8 lymphocytes and macrophages in psoriasis vulgaris.
Current knowledge of the immunopathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris is based on the crucial role of CD4 and CD8 lymphocytes. Also, the connection of activated lymphocytes with macrophages, especially dendritic cells and plasmacytoid dendritic cells, is considered to be significant. In the present study, the expression of CD4+ lymphocytes as well as CD8+ lymphocytes (P < 0.001) and macrophages (P ...
متن کاملProgress in understanding the immunopathogenesis of psoriasis.
This review emphasizes how translation from bench research to clinical knowledge and vice versa has resulted in considerable progress in understanding the immunopathogenesis of psoriasis. First, the journey in understanding the pathogenic mechanisms behind psoriasis is described. The roles of different components of the adaptive and innate immune systems involved in driving the inflammatory res...
متن کاملNew and emerging biologic therapies for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis: mechanistic rationales and recent clinical data for IL-17 and IL-23 inhibitors
The development of effective and well-tolerated biologic therapies has advanced the management of psoriasis by enabling clinicians to treat underlying disease mechanisms. Biologics approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis include three tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitors and an interleukin-12/interleukin-23 inhibitor. The establishment of the immunological basis of psoriasi...
